Perené River
The Perené River is a Peruvian river on the eastern slopes of the South American Andes. It is formed at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:10|57|06|S|75|17|00|W| | |name= }} at the confluence of the rivers Chanchamayu and the Pawkartampu, 15 km above the community of Perené, actually two pueblos of Santa Ana and Pampa Silva divided by the river, at 650 m above sea level. The river flows in a south-easterly direction; its length is 165 km.

This region is located in the so-called jungle-eyebrow, which means that its geography is a mixture of mountains and jungle. The climate is not quite as hot and humid as it is in the jungle and not quite as cold and dry as it is in the mountains.
