Shoana Church

Shoana Church, also known as Khumara Church, is an early 10th-century Alanian church sited on a cliff above the left bank of the Kuban River, 7 km upstream from Karachayevsk, Russia and 4 km downstream from the ruins of Skhimar, in the vicinity of Kosta Khetagurov Village. It is a typical Byzantine-style church, 12.9 meters high, with three naves, separated by four pillars.

Podkumok River

Podkumok River is a river in Stavropol Krai, Russia, right tributary of the Kuma River. The length of the river is 160 km . The area of its basin is 2,220 km² (857 mi²). The Podkumok River originates in the Greater Caucasus. It is widely used for irrigation. The biggest hydroelectric dam in Imperial Russia Water-powers Белые угли, built in 1903, was located on the Podkumok River near Yessentuki.
