Sochi International Airport

Sochi International Airport (Russian: Международный Аэропорт Сочи) is an airport located in Adler District of the resort city of Sochi, on the coast of the Black Sea in the federal subject of Krasnodar Krai, Russia. The operator of the airport is JSC International, which is part of the aviation holding company Basic Element Aero. As of 2010, the airport is the eighth busiest airport in Russia, serving 1.9 million passengers.

Armavia Flight 967

Armavia Flight 967 was a flight operated by Armavia, the largest international airline of Armenia on May 3, 2006, from Yerevan in Armenia to Sochi, a Black Sea coastal resort city in Russia. The aircraft crashed into the sea while attempting to conduct a go-around following its first approach to Sochi airport, killing all 113 aboard.

Adlersky City District

Adlersky City District is the southernmost of four city districts of the city of Sochi in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, lying along the Black Sea coast near the southern Russian border with Abkhazia. Population: 76,534; 69,120; 68,827. The historical center of the district is Adler Microdistrict (А́длер) — formerly classified as a town, but today a microdistrict of Adlersky City District—located at the mouth of the Mzymta River.

Adler Arena Skating Center

The Adler Arena Skating Center (Адлер-Арена) is a description of a 8,000-seat speed skating oval in the Olympic Park, Sochi, Russia. It is opened in 2012 and looks like an iceberg or ice fault. The center will host the speed skating events at the 2014 Winter Olympics. After the Olympics, it will be turned into a exhibition center. It have cost $32.8 million to build the venue, including the temporary works for the Olympics.

Iceberg Skating Palace

The Iceberg Skating Palace is a 12,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Sochi, Russia. The venue will host the figure skating and short track speed skating events at the 2014 Winter Olympics. It cost $43.9 million, including the temporary works for the Olympics. 15,000 tonnes of steel were used. The environment was taken into consideration in its construction.
