Deliblatska Peščara

Deliblatska Peščara is a large sand area situated in the Vojvodina province, Serbia. It is located in southern Banat (mostly in the South Banat District, with a smaller part in the Central Banat District). The sand is named after the village of Deliblato, which is situated in the municipality of Kovin. Deliblatska Peščara is the largest sandy terrain in Europe, once part of a vast prehistoric desert. It originated from the withdrawal of the Pannonian Sea.

Kovin Airport

Kovin Airport is an airport in the Kovin Municipality, Vojvodina, Serbia. The airport is also near the town of Smederevo and some 45 km (28 mi) east of central Belgrade. The airport is a military airport and is used by the Military of Serbia. In 1998 Jat Airways McDonnell Douglas DC-9-32 plane successfully make forced landing on Kovin Airport. In April 2006 the airport asked for it to be used for public use as well. The government will most likely accept the move.

Ostrvo (Kostolac)

Ostrvo or Ostrovo (meaning "island" in Serbian) was the largest Serbian river island on the Danube, with an area of 60 km . It was 20 kilometres in length and 3 kilometres in width. Today it is no longer an island but peninsula, which is connected to the southern bank of the Danube. Ostrvo lies east of Belgrade, near Kostolac, and is heavily forested. It has given its name to a village of Ostrovo in Kostolac municipality. The southern arm of Danube around Ostrvo is called Dunavac.
