Battle of Poljana

Peca (mountain)

Peca or Petzen is the highest mountain of the Eastern Karavanke range, the second highest mountain of the Northern Karavanke, and the most eastern two-thousand-metre (over 6,562 ft) mountain of Slovenia. It is a mighty mountain with a characteristic shape of a tableland with rocky peaks protruding from it. The mountain borders the Mežica Valley and the Topla Valley to the south and east, and the Jaun Valley to the north, and is separated by a narrow valley of the Bela creek from Hochobir.

Carinthia Statistical Region

The Carinthia Statistical Region (Slovene: Koroška statistična regija) is a statistical region in northern Slovenia along the border with Austria. It includes parts of the traditional regions of Slovenian Carinthia and Lower Styria. It has a total area of 1,041 square kilometres . The region has Slovenia's highest proportion of employment in industry due to the various manufacturing plants, mining, and quarrying developed in the region. The greatest natural asset of the region is its forests.

Meža

The Meža (Slovenian) or Mieß (German) is a 43 km (27 mi. ) river in the Austrian state of Carinthia and Slovenia. It has its source on the Austrian side of the border near Mount Olševa, becomes subterranean a kilometre from its source, and reappears on the surface in Koprivna near Črna na Koroškem, Slovenia. It is the central river of the Mežica Valley. It flows through Črna na Koroškem, Mežica, Prevalje, and Ravne na Koroškem, and into the Drava River at Dravograd.
