Ptuj Castle

Ptuj Castle is a castle in Ptuj, Slovenia. It is situated on a hill alongside the river Drava overlooking the town, and is a prominent landmark. The castle was built in the mid-12th century, when it was constructed to defend against the Hungarians. At this time Ptuj was owned by the Archdiocese of Salzburg.

St. George's Church, Ptuj

St. George's Church in Ptuj, northeastern Slovenia, is one of the oldest Slovenian churches. It is located behind the monolithic Roman tombstone, the Monument of Orpheus. The church was used as a pillory in the Middle Ages and was of major important to life in the town. Records indicate it was built around 1140. The paintings, whose remains are on walls, were made from the late 13th to the end of the 15th century. In 1863 the church became Provost.

Orpheus Monument

The Orpheus Monument is a Roman monument in Ptuj, Slovenia, an almost 5 metres high and about 1.8 metres wide stele, carved of white Pohorje marble. It is located at Slovene Square, the town's central square, in front of the Town Tower. It is the oldest public monument preserved in its original location in Slovenia, the largest discovered monument from the Roman province of the Upper Pannonia, and the symbol of Ptuj.

Puh Bridge

The Puh Bridge, officially the Bridge over the Drava River in Ptuj (Most čez Dravo na Ptuju), is an extradosed bridge over the Drava River near lake Ptuj in northeastern Slovenia. It is 430 metres long and 18.7 m wide, and has an area of 8,097 square metres . It was built from October 2007 until May 2007, when it was opened for traffic. Its architects were Peter Gabrijelčič and Viktor Markelj, who was also its constructor.
