Ljungby Municipality (Ljungby kommun) is a municipality in Kronoberg County, southern Sweden, where the town Ljungby is seat. In 1971 the City of Ljungby (1936-1970) was amalgamated with the rural municipalities surrounding it, thus creating the present municipality. In 1974 a minor adjustment of the boundaries took place. Bolmen is a lake in Småland, Sweden. Covering 184 km², and with a maximum depth of 37 m, it supplies a considerable part of Skåne with fresh water by means of an 82-km long tunnel, the Bolmen Water Tunnel, built during the 1970s and 80s. Bolmen is situated at the heart of Finnveden, one of the small lands of today's Småland. It is the tenth largest lake in Sweden. It contains 365 islands, of which the largest is Bolmsö, which was historically the meeting-place of the local assembly.

Bolmsö
Bolmsö is an island located in lake Bolmen near Växjö in Småland. It had 382 inhabitants in 1998. It presents 530 ancient remains, including dolmens and cobble-clad graves in various forms, especially large triangular ones. The dominating graves are large barrows from the Iron Age with the addition of stelae, stone circles and a large stone ship. A farm with the name Hof reveals that it was once a pagan blót temple.

Dörarp
Dörarp is a small locality (according to the definition of Statistics Sweden) in Ljungby Municipality, Sweden. In 2005, Dörarp had 145 inhabitants. Dörarp was the place where Metallica's tour-bus slipped off the road in 1986. As a result of that, the bassist of Metallica, Cliff Burton died. Jason Newsted took over the role of bassist in Metallica. There is a memorial stone by the Gyllene Rasten parking.
