Öckerö Municipality

Öckerö Municipality (Öckerö kommun) is a municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Öckerö on the main island, which is also called Öckerö. The municipality consists of islands in the Northern Gothenburg Archipelago, just outside of Gothenburg. With a total area of 26.03 km² it is one of the smallest municipalities of Sweden.

SS Westfalen (1905)

SS Westfalen was a German ship launched on 14 November 1905 at J.C. Tecklenborg in Geestemünde. In the early 1930s Westfalen was converted into a seaplane tender to serve as both weather reporting and refueling station for Dornier Wal flying boats of Lufthansa carrying mail trans-Atlantic between Europe and South America. German submarine U-1065

German submarine U-1065 was a Type VIIC/41 U-boat of the German Kriegsmarine during World War II. She was ordered\ton 14 September 1941, and was laid down on 23 September 1943 at Krupp Germaniawerft, Kiel, as 'werk 702'. She was launched on 3 August 1944 and commissioned under the command of Oberleutnant Johannes Panitz on 23 September of that year.

Torslanda Airport — served the city of Gothenburg, Sweden, as its main airport from 1923 to 1977, when the Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport was opened. After 1977, Torslanda air traffic was assumed by both Gothenburg City Airport (also known as Säve Airport), and Landvetter.
