Hofenmühle

The Hofenmühle is an 18th-century water mill in the municipality of Wohlen near Bern, Switzerland. The existence of the mill, which is private property, is attested since 1719. After the 1920 damming of the River Aar that created the Wohlensee reservoir, the water wheel was replaced with a Brown, Boveri & Cie turbine. The mill ceased to operate in 1994 following the retirement of the miller; since then, local craftsmen and artists have settled in the buildings.

Lake Wohlen

Lake Wohlen is a reservoir in the Canton of Berne, Switzerland. Its surface is approximately 3.65 km² and its maximum depth is 20 m. It lies between the towns of Bremgarten bei Bern and Mühleberg. Lake Wohlen was completed in 1920.

Saane/Sarine

Saane or Sarine is one of the largest rivers in Switzerland. It is 128 km long and has a drainage area of 1,892 km². It is a tributary of the river Aar. The source is at the foot of the Sanetschhorn, in the western part of the Bernese Oberland.

The Westside Shopping and Leisure Centre, on the outskirts of Bern, Switzerland, is a multi-use facility with shops, restaurants, a swimming pool, conference spaces, residences, a hotel, fitness centres, and a cinema. It was designed by international architect Daniel Libeskind and completed in October 2008.

Bernese Mittelland

The Bernese Mittelland (Bern-Mittelland) is the part of the canton of Berne situated in the Swiss Plateau. Beginning in 2010, it is one of the canton's five administrative divisions.
