Lycée Français d'Alep

The Lycée Français d'Alep, known also as MLF lycée d'Alep, École Française or the French school, is a French lycée in the city of Aleppo, Syria, founded in 1997 by the Mission laïque française, an organization which also helped found other lycées all over the world. The school is located at Cordoba Hills neighborhood, near the village of Kafr Joum, 15 km south-west of Aleppo city, near the Aleppo-Damascus highway.

Khan Tuman (building)

Khan Tuman is a large khan is located in the village of Khan Tuman, about fifteen kilometers south of Aleppo, on the west bank of the Quweiq River. It was built in 1189 by Ayyubid Emir Tuman Nuri as a rural khan to protect travelers on the trade route linking the Euphrates to the Mediterranean Sea. A second khan was added abutting its southern wall in 1478 by Mamluk Sultan Qaitbey (1468–1496).

University of Aleppo

University of Aleppo is a public university located in Aleppo, Syria. It is the second largest university in Syria after the University of Damascus. The University has over 61,000 undergraduate students, over 1,500 graduate students and approximately 2400 faculty members as of the 2005/2006 school year.

Battle of Anadan

The Battle of Anadan was a ten-hour-long armed confrontation between the rebels of the Free Syrian Army and soldiers of the Syrian Army that occurred when FSA forces attempted to overrun a large army checkpoint in the area. At the end of the battle, the FSA successfully seized the checkpoint.

Aleppo International Stadium

Aleppo International Stadium is an Olympic-standard, multi-use, all-covered and all-seater stadium in the Syrian city of Aleppo. It is the largest stadium in Syria, and is currently used mostly for football matches. It serves as a home ground of Al-Ittihad football club. It also hosted some home games of the Syrian football team. The stadium was opened in 2007 and holds 75,000 spectators. The venue is a part of al-Hamadaniah sports city which is located in the southern districts of Aleppo.
