Baihe District

Baihe District is an old town located in Tainan City, Taiwan. It is known for its hot springs and Lotus Festival today. The town borders Chiayi County to the north and east, Dongshan District to the south, and Houbi District to the west. Some aboriginal tribes of Siraya people are live in here. 1941 Chungpu earthquake

The 1941 Chungpu earthquake was a magnitude 7.1 earthquake which occurred on December 17, 1941 and was centred on the town of Chungpu, Taiwan. It was the fourth-deadliest earthquake of the 20th century in Taiwan, claiming 358 lives.
