Hengchun

Hengchun of Pingtung County is the southernmost township in Taiwan. Hengchun is also the only urban township in the southern part of Pingtung County. Hengchun has a land area of 136.7630 square kilometers and has a population of 31,123 as of August 2009. The city of Hengchun is the entry way to Kenting National Park, the southernmost National Park in the country. With pristine beaches and a vibrant tourist industry, the Hengchun area often attracts more travelers than local residents.

Hengchun Airport

Hengchun Airport is an airport in Hengchun, Pingtung County, Taiwan. The airport is near Kenting National Park and is the southern-most airport in Taiwan. Due to its location, the airport experiences strong Katabatic wind and is forced to close. Because of this, the load factor of the flights rarely exceeds 40%; airlines are considering filing applications for withdrawal of services to Hengchun.

Cape Eluanbi

Cape Eluanbi is located in Hengchun township, Pingtung county, on the southernmost end of the Taiwan Central Mountain Range. It is also known as Ngoluanpi. Facing the Luzon Strait, it is the southernmost cape of Taiwan. The name Gô-lôan derives from Goran, as means "Sail" coming from Paiwan language of Paiwan people which is one of the Taiwanese aborigines. The word phīⁿ means "nose", referring to the shape of the "Cape".

Qixingyan (Taiwan)

Qixingyan or Chihsingyen (Chinese: 七星岩; literally "Seven Star Reef") is a group of coral islands in the Bashi Channel, located off the southern coast of Pingtung County, Taiwan. The island group is composed by seven coral reefs. At low tide seven reefs are visible. At high tide, only two reefs are visible. Qixingyan is arranged in a shape similar to the Big Dipper, hence the name "Seven Star Reef". It is located approximately 8 nautical miles from the Southernmost point of Taiwan, Oluanpi.
