Xizhi District
Xizhi is an inner city district in New Taipei City in northern Taiwan. In the past, the Xizhi area was the Kypanas locality (峰仔峙社) of the Ketagalan Taiwanese aborigines. The old name in Chinese refers to the fact that the tide from the Keelung River stops at Xizhi and goes back to the sea. During the Japanese rule, the place name was changed to 汐止 (shiodome, literally "end of tides"), which is the source of the current name.

The cemetery is located on Wuzhi Mountain (五指山) in Xizhi, New Taipei City and borders Taipei City's Neihu District and Yangmingshan National Park. General Chiang Wei-kuo, the adopted son of Chiang Kai-shek, conceived and designed the cemetery.
