Alishan (阿里山鄉) is a rural township in Chiayi County, Taiwan. It has a population total of 6,180 and an area of 427.8471 square kilometres. It is located at an elevation of 2,190 metres in the western highlands of Taiwan.

Central Mountain Range

The Central Mountain Range, also known as the Chungyang Range, is the principal range of mountains in Taiwan. It runs from the north of the island to the south. Due to this separation, connecting between the west and east is not so convenient. The tallest peak of the range is Siouguluan Mountain, 3,860 meters (12,664 feet).

Xiaolin, Kaohsiung

Xiaolin is a village in Taiwan in the rural township of Jiaxian, Kaohsiung County (now part of Kaohsiung City). It is in a largely agricultural area and was destroyed by a mudslide during Typhoon Morakot in 2009.
