Ko Pha Ngan

Ko Pha Ngan is an island in the Gulf of Thailand in South East Thailand, and located in Surat Thani Province. It is famous for its full moon party at Haad Rin Beach and as a backpackers destination. Ko Pha Ngan has two sister islands: the larger Ko Samui to the south and the smaller Ko Tao to the north. Estimated perimeter: 40 km EST. (10hrs average walking time) From mainland: about 55 km From Ko Samui: about 15 km From Ko Tao: about 35 km Main town: Thong Sala Highest Point: Khao Ra, 630m asl.

Thong Sala

Thong Sala ("Tong saLaah") is the principal town and administrative centre of Ko Pha Ngan, an island in the Gulf of Thailand. While Haad Rin hosts the Full Moon Party and attracts many of the island's more hedonistic visitors, Thong Sala is mostly used by tourists as a ferry terminal and jumping off point rather than a destination in itself.

Haad Rin

Haad Rin is a peninsular beach area and town on the southern tip of Ko Pha Ngan, an island in the Gulf of Thailand. Its two main beaches are Sunset Beach (Haad Rin Nai) to the south and the larger Sunrise Beach (Haad Rin Nok) to the north. The famous Full Moon Party takes place on Sunrise Beach each month. The town and beach first became popular with backpackers escaping the tourist influx to Ko Samui in the 1980s.

Samui Airport

Samui International Airport, also known as Ko Samui Airport or Koh Samui Airport, is a privately owned airport on the island of Ko Samui (Koh Samui) in Thailand. The airport is located roughly 2 km north of the main city and largest resort centre on the island, Chaweng. It was built by Bangkok Airways; construction began in 1982 and the airport was officially opened in April 1989. Samui Airport is an unusual airport because there is no indoor area, except the gift shop.
