Titiwangsa Mountains

The Titiwangsa Mountains, also known as "Banjaran Besar" (Main Range) by locals, are the main mountain range that forms the backbone of the Malay Peninsula. The northern section of the range is in Southern Thailand, where it is known as Sankalakhiri Range. The range acts as a natural divider, dividing Peninsular Malaysia, as well as southernmost Thailand, into East and West Coast regions. Betong, Thailand

Betong is a town in southern Thailand, near the boundary to Malaysia. It is the capital of Betong district, the southernmost district of Yala Province. As of 2005, the town has a population of 24,688. Betong is the southernmost town of Thailand. Across the Malaysia-Thailand border by the Keroh pass is the state of Perak. Bang Lang Reservoir

Bang Lang Reservoir is a largest reservoir in Yala Province of Thailand. The reservoir is located on the Pattani River in Southern Thailand. The dam is 85 metres high with a crest of 422 metres long, and the reservoir has a capacity of 1,420 million cubic metres. It is used for irrigation, flood control as well as to produce 1,275 kW of electricity.

Betong Mongkhonrit Tunnel

The Betong Mongkhonrit Tunnel is the first and largest road tunnel in Thailand. It is located in Betong, Yala Province, Thailand. It is a curved tunnel, 268 metres long, connecting the town centre with a newer part of the town to the South-East. The tunnel was opened on 1 January 2001.
