Kimmerikon

Kimmerikón was an ancient Greek town in Crimea, on the southern shore of the Kerch Peninsula, at the western slope of Mount Opuk, roughly 50 kilometers south-west of modern Kerch. The town was founded by the Milesian colonists in the 5th century BC and flourished at the beginning of the Christian era. Its name may refer to an earlier Cimmerian settlement on the site. Kimmerikon was an important stronghold defending the Bosporan Kingdom from the Scythians.

Tuzla Island

Tuzla Spit is a sandy islet in a form of a spit located in the middle of the Strait of Kerch between the Kerch Peninsula in the west and the Taman Peninsula in the east. Administratively, it is part of Kerch city in the eastern Crimea.

Tuzla Spit

Tuzla (Russian: Тузлинская коса, Коса Тузла, Ukrainian: Коса Тузла) is a long narrow peninsula, or sandy spit, in the southern part of the Strait of Kerch which extends from Cape Tuzla to the north-west in the direction of the city Kerch for almost 12 km. Tuzla Spit consists of the Tuzla Island, Tuzla dam and 2 small islands . The Tuzla Spit forms the southern shore of the Taman Bay; the northern shore is the Chushka Spit.
