Chornivka

Chornivka is a village in the Chernivtsi Oblast of western Ukraine. It is located in the Novoselytsky Raion in the historic region of Bukovina, approximately 22 km from the oblast capital, Chernivtsi. The current estimated population is 2,340 (as of 2005). As of 2005, the mayor was Gheorghe Bota.

Kitsman

Kitsman is a city located in the Chernivtsi Oblast of western Ukraine. It is the administrative center of Kitsman Raion, and is located at around {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:48|26|33|N|25|45|41|E| | |name= }}. The town is about 20 km northwest from Chernivtsi on the road to Zalishchyky. The first historical mention of Kitsman is dated to 1413, which also appears on the city's crest.

Czernowitz Synagogue

The Czernowitz Synagogue was a domed, Moorish Revival synagogue built in 1873 in what is now Chernivtsi, Ukraine. At the time it was built, the city was known as Czernowitz and was part of Austria-Hungary. The architect was Julian Zachariewicz (1873–78). The synagogue was confiscated and closed by the Soviet government after it gained Northern Bukovina (of which Czernowitz is the largest city) from Romania in 1940.
