Stocks House

Stocks manor house is a large Georgian mansion, built in 1773. It is the largest property in the village of Aldbury, Hertfordshire. Stocks House and its manorial farm is an 182-acre estate surrounded by 10,000 acres of National Trust Ashridge Forest and the Chiltern Hills. It takes its name from the old famous stocks of the medieval village of Aldbury just down the road.

Tring railway station

Tring railway station is 1.5 miles outside the small town of Tring, close to the Grand Union Canal and actually nearer the village of Aldbury in Hertfordshire, England. The former Royal Station Hotel and Restaurant has been converted into residential accommodation and beyond that is a small collection of houses, some modern, including a terrace of former LNWR railway cottages.

Ringshall, Berkhamsted

Ringshall is a hamlet in the Chiltern Hills of England. Parts of it lie in the parishes of Edlesborough Northall and Dagnall and Ivinghoe in Buckinghamshire, but it is now mainly in the parish of Little Gaddesden in Hertfordshire. The postal address is "Ringshall, BERKHAMSTED". Ringshall is one of four place-names in the parish of Edlesborough Northall and Dagnall that have an origin with the suffix healh; the others being Dagnall, Hudnall and Northall.

Ashridge Priory

Ashridge Priory was a medieval abbey of the Brothers of Penitence. The seventeenth century historian Polydore Vergil said that Edmund (son of Richard, Earl of Cornwall who had a palace there) founded in 1283 a monastery at Ashridge, Hertfordshire, for a rector and twenty canons of "a new order not before seen in England, and called the Boni homines". It was finished in 1285.
