Bourne Eau

Bourne Eau is a short river which rises in the town of Bourne in Lincolnshire, England, and flows in an easterly direction to join the River Glen at Tongue End. It is an embanked river, as its normal level is higher than that of the surrounding Fens. It was navigable in the 18th and 19th century, but now forms an important part of the drainage system that enables the surrounding fen land to be used for agriculture.

Bourne Castle

Bourne Castle was in the market town of Bourne in southern Lincolnshire. A Norman castle was built by Baldwin FitzGilbert. In medieval times there was motte and double bailey castle which formed an unusual concentric plan. The castle was destroyed after being used by Cromwell's troops in 1645 and a farmhouse was built on the site. Traces of the enclosed mound and inner and outer moats are all that now survive.

Bourne Civic Society

Bourne Civic Society is a voluntary organization concerned with the development of the town and community of Bourne, Lincolnshire, England. It was founded in 1977 at a time of a rapid expansion of the town. Its aim is to carry the good features of the town from the past into the future, while improving the existing structures. The society arranges talks and visits but its most visible work has gone into its heritage centre in Baldock's Mill.

Bourne, Lincolnshire

Bourne is a market town and civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated on the eastern edge of the Kesteven Uplands and the western border of the Lincolnshire Fens.

A15 road (England)

The A15 is a major road in England. It runs north from Peterborough via Market Deeping, Bourne, Sleaford and Lincoln along a variety of ancient, Roman, and Turnpike alignments before it is interrupted at its junction with the M180 near Scawby. The road restarts 10 miles east, and then continues north past Barton-upon-Humber, crossing the Humber on the Humber Bridge before terminating at Hessle near Kingston upon Hull.
