Roadford Lake

Roadford Lake, also known as Roadford Reservoir is a man-made reservoir fed by the River Wolf. It is located to the north-east of Broadwoodwidger in West Devon, eight miles (13 km) east of Launceston. It is the largest area of fresh water in the southwest of England. Operated by South West Water, it directly supplies water for North Devon. It also supplies Plymouth and South West Devon via releases into the River Tamar for abstraction at Gunnislake.

Burley Wood

Burley Wood is the site of an Iron Age hill fort North of Lydford in Devon. The fort occupies much of a hilltop some 220 metres above sea level overlooking the river Lew. The site also has a Norman motte-and-bailey earthwork just below it to the northeast at approx 215 metres above sea level.

Broadwoodwidger

Broadwoodwidger is a village and civil parish in the Torridge district of Devon, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 548. The village is just off the A30 road, and is about eight miles east of Launceston in Cornwall, and 13 miles west of Okehampton. Roadford Reservoir, which is also called Roadford Lake, is to the north-east of the village, and the River Wolf passes at the bottom of the hillside on which the village stands.

Bridestowe

Bridestowe is a village in West Devon, England. It is located outside Okehampton on the edge of Dartmoor and on the A30 main road. Its population in 2001 was 552, although it had been over twice as large in the early 19th century. The name derives from Saint Bride, who is featured in a church window. Great Bidlake is an Elizabethan mansion a mile away. The church is mostly 13th and 15th century, with a west tower and some fragments of Norman work.
