Ellesmere Port and Neston

Ellesmere Port and Neston was, from 1974 to 2009, a local government district with borough status in Cheshire, England. It covered the southern part of the Wirral Peninsula, namely that part which is not included in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral. The district had a population of about 81,800 (2006 estimate). Its main town was Ellesmere Port, an industrial town on the Manchester Ship Canal, which connects at Eastham locks to the River Mersey.

Hadlow Road railway station

Hadlow Road railway station was a station on the single track Hooton to West Kirby branch of the Birkenhead Railway, on the Wirral Peninsula, Cheshire, England. The station served the village of Willaston. It may be presumed that it was named Hadlow Road to distinguish it from the pre-existing Cheshire station at the other Cheshire village of Willaston, and so named, on the GWR/LNWR joint line between Crewe and Nantwich.

RAF Hooton Park

RAF Hooton Park, on the Wirral Peninsula, Cheshire, was a Royal Air Force station originally built for the Royal Flying Corps in 1917 as a training aerodrome for pilots in World War I. During the early/mid-1930s, it was one of the two airfields handling scheduled services for the Merseyside region. Hooton Park was home to No. 610 (County of Chester) Squadron and, post World War II, to No. 611 (West Lancashire) and No. 663 (AOP) Squadron.
