Compton Wynyates

Compton Wynyates is a country house in Warwickshire, England, a Grade I listed building. The Tudor period house, an example of Tudor architecture, is constructed of red brick and built around a central courtyard. It is castellated and turreted in parts. Following action in the Civil War, half timbered gables were added to replace damaged parts of the building.

Traitor's Ford

Traitor's Ford is a ford around 2 miles outside Brailes, Warwickshire, England. It can be seen in the film, Three Men and a Little Lady. Local legend has its name from a skirmish following the Civil War Battle of Edgehill. Alternate name is 'Traders Ford', and that a cattle market was held here.

Banbury Rural District

Banbury was a rural district in Oxfordshire, England from 1894 to 1974. It was formed under the Local Government Act 1894 from the bulk of the Banbury rural sanitary district, which had been divided between three counties. The Warwickshire part of the rural sanitary district (except for the Warwickshire part of the parish of Mollington, which joined Oxfordshire) formed the Farnborough Rural District, whilst the area in Northamptonshire formed the Middleton Cheney Rural District.
