Gainsborough Old Hall
Gainsborough Old Hall in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire is over five hundred years old and one of the best preserved medieval manor houses in England. The hall was built by Sir Thomas Burgh in 1460. The Burghs were rich, flamboyant and powerful people. Gainsborough Old Hall was not only their home, but also a demonstration of their wealth and importance. Sir Thomas was a great benefactor to Newark Church and also the founder of the Chantry and Alms House at Gainsborough.

The Northolme
The Northolme is a multi-use stadium in Gainsborough, England. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Gainsborough Trinity F.C.. The stadium has a capacity of 4,304 people (504 seated, 3,800 standing) and is nicknamed 'The Chapel', in reference to the Holy Trinity. In 1988 Worksop Town lost their Central Avenue ground, and were forced to ground-share 20 miles away at The Northolme until 1992. A similar request was rejected in 2008.

Gainsborough Rural District
Gainsborough was rural district in Lincolnshire, Parts of Lindsey from 1894 to 1974. It was formed under the Local Government Act 1894 from that part of the Gainsborough rural sanitary district which was in Lindsey. It was reduced in 1936 under a County Review Order by ceding the parishes of Haxey, Oston Ferry and West Butterwick, all part of the Isle of Axholme, to the Isle of Axholme Rural District.

Bole, Nottinghamshire
Bole is a village and civil parish in the Bassetlaw district of Nottinghamshire, England. It is close by the River Trent, on the eastern side of which is Gainsborough in Lincolnshire. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 140. The parish church of St Martin was extensively rebuilt in 1866 by James Fowler. There was a windmill located close to the Gainsborough road.
