Poulton-le-Sands

Poulton-le-Sands was one of three small villages that combined to create Morecambe. Poulton was first mentioned in the Domesday Book as Poltune. It later became Poulton and remained this way for a number of centuries. It was towards the end of the eighteenth or the beginning of the nineteenth century that the Le-Sands was added. This was to distinguish it from another Poulton located near Blackpool which is now Poulton-Le-Fylde.

Christie Park, Morecambe

Christie Park was the home of Morecambe FC, located on the corner of Christie Avenue and Lancaster Road in Morecambe, Lancashire, England. Christie Park had a capacity of approximately 6,400. It comprised three covered stands and one uncovered stand. The only seated stand (the Main Stand) ran along the length of the pitch on one side. The main terraced end (the North Stand) was situated behind one of the goals, and was the location for the majority of the home fans on match days.

Frontierland, Morecambe

Frontierland Western Theme Park was a theme park at Morecambe, Lancashire, England, situated on Marine Road West, which operated from 1909 to 7 November 1999, with a final year consisting of only travelling rides in 2000. Frontierland originally operated as West End Amusement Park, Fun City and Morecambe Pleasure Park from 1909 to 1986 before being transformed into Frontierland for the 1987 season in an attempt to defeat dwindling visitor numbers.

Midland Hotel, Morecambe

The Midland Hotel is a Streamline Moderne building in Morecambe, in Lancashire, England. It was built by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS), in 1933, to the designs of architect Oliver Hill, with sculpture by Eric Gill. It is a Grade II* listed building. The hotel has been restored by Urban Splash with architects Union North, Northwest Regional Development Agency and Lancaster City Council.

Bare Lane railway station

Bare Lane railway station is a railway station that serves the village of Bare, which is a suburb of Morecambe in Lancashire, England. It is located on the Morecambe Branch Line from Lancaster to Heysham Port. A level crossing with the public highway known as Bare Lane exists immediately to the west of the station, which until recently was controlled by the adjacent Bare Lane signal box, a fringe cabin to the Preston PSB Area.
