Wirral Hundred

The Hundred of Wirral is the ancient administrative area for the Wirral Peninsula. Its name is believed to have originated from the Hundred of Wilaveston, the historic name for Willaston, which was an important assembly point in the Wirral Hundred during the Middle Ages. The ton suffix in a place name normally indicates a previous use as a meeting location for officials. During its existence, the hundred was one of the Hundreds of Cheshire.

Prenton Park

Prenton Park is an association football stadium in Birkenhead, England. It is the home ground of Tranmere Rovers F.C. and Liverpool F.C. Reserves. The club moved to the current Prenton Park in 1912. The ground has had several rebuilds, with the most recent occurring in 1995 in response to the requirement of the Taylor Report to become all-seater. Today's stadium holds 16,567 in four stands: the Kop, the Johnny King Stand, the Main Stand and the Cowshed (for away supporters).

Wirral Peninsula

Wirral or the Wirral /ˈwɪrəl/ is a peninsula in North West England. It is bounded to the west by the River Dee, forming a boundary with Wales, to the east by the River Mersey and to the north by the Irish Sea. Most of the Peninsular belongs to the Liverpool City region. Both terms "Wirral" and "the Wirral" are used locally (and interchangeably), although the merits of each form are debated. The roughly rectangular peninsula is about 15 miles long and 7 miles wide.

Williamson Art Gallery and Museum

The Williamson Art Gallery and Museum is situated in Birkenhead, Merseyside, England and houses the town's collection of art. Opened on 1 December 1928, the single-storey building is Neo Georgian in style. Financial support for its establishment was provided by John Williamson, a Director of the Cunard Steamship Co. Ltd. and his son Patrick Williamson.
