ROF Ranskill
The Royal Ordnance Factory (ROF) Ranskill was a UK Ministry of Supply, World War II, Explosive ROF. It was located adjacent to what is now known as the East Coast Main Line railway at Ranskill, Nottinghamshire, just north of the town of Retford. Its construction was approved in 1940 and it was built, with the Ministry of Works acting as Agents, as an almost self-contained, explosive factory producing Cordite, with its own acids plant.

Worksop Rural District
Worksop (previously Blyth and Cuckney) was a Rural District in Nottinghamshire, England. It originated as Worksop Rural Sanitary District in 1872. In 1894, under the Local Government Act 1894, the Worksop RSD was split to match county borders, with the West Riding of Yorkshire part becoming the Kiveton Park Rural District, and the Derbyshire part becoming Clowne Rural District.

Scrooby railway station
Scrooby was a railway station on the Great Northern Railway running between Retford and Doncaster. The station served the small village of Scrooby and was near Bawtry railway station but was used until cuts in 1931, thereafter during World War II due to a major depot in the village. Blyth Priory
Blyth Priory was a priory in Nottinghamshire, England. The monastery lay on the north side, separated from the church by the cloisters and garth or open area, and the hall covers the site of some of the domestic monastic buildings. As a daughter house of St. Katharine's (Trinity) at Rouen, its priors were long appointed by that house and many of the monks were Frenchmen, sent hither, it was reputed, by way of punishment.

Bircotes is a mining town in the Bassetlaw district of Nottinghamshire, on the border with the metropolitan borough of Doncaster. It is located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:53|25|N|1|2|W||| | |name= }}, and forms the civil parish of Harworth and Bircotes with its neighbour Harworth. The parish has a population of around 8,000 people. The nearest major towns are Doncaster and Worksop. The local school is Serlby Park Academy.
