Thanet West was a British parliamentary constituency in the Isle of Thanet, in Kent. It was created for the February 1974 general election, and returned one Member of Parliament to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. The former constituency of Isle of Thanet was split into Thanet West (around Margate) and Thanet East (Ramsgate and Broadstairs).

Dreamland Margate
Dreamland Margate is an amusement park located in Margate, Kent, England. It is currently owned by DreamlandLive, formerly Margate Town Centre Regeneration Company (MTCRC) and is closed to the public. The Thanet District Council are currently serving a Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) on the site after failing to reach an agreement with MTCRC to buy the land. DreamlandLive and have appealed against the CPO leading to a public enquiry, the CPO has been approved in August 2012.
