Whittlesey Rural District

Whittlesey was a rural district in the Isle of Ely from 1894 to 1926. It was created by the Local Government Act 1894 based on the Whittlesey rural sanitary district, and consisted of one civil parish - Whittlesey Rural. The parish and district entirely surrounded the urban district of Whittlesey, which contained the parish of Whittlesey Urban. The parish and district were both abolished in 1926, becoming part of the Whittlesey urban district and parish.

Lattersey

Lattersey is managed as a nature reserve by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Peterborough. It lies east of the town of Whittlesey in the county of Cambridgeshire.

Eastrea railway station

Eastrea railway station was a station serving the village of Eastrea, Cambridgeshire on the Great Eastern Railway's line from Ely to Peterborough. The station was situated at the level crossing on the road leading south from the village towards Benwick. Two miles east of the station was Three Horseshoes junction from where the Benwick goods railway headed south to Benwick. This station was only temporary and served while near by Whittlesea was getting refurbished and rebuilt.

Thorney Rural District

Thorney was a rural district in England from 1894 to 1974, situated to the east of Peterborough. It was created under the Local Government Act 1894, covering the parishes of Thorney and Stanground. It was considered part of the administrative county of the Isle of Ely. In 1904 Stanground was split, with the new parish Stanground North remaining in the district (and Isle of Ely), while the remainder, Stanground South, became part of the Old Fletton urban district in Huntingdonshire.

Peterborough Power Station

Peterborough Power Station is a 360MW gas-fired power station at Eastern Industry, Fengate in the city of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire in the United Kingdom. It employs around forty people. The power station was commissioned in December 1993 with construction starting in January 1991. It is run by Centrica Energy and officially owned by Centrica PB Ltd. Peterborough Power Ltd, the station's original operating name, was bought by Centrica Plc from Dallas-based TXU Corp. in October 2001.
