Weisdale

Weisdale is a bay, hamlet and ancient parish in Shetland. The bay opens near the northern extremity of Scalloway Bay, and strikes four and a half miles to the north north east. The hamlet lies at the bay's head, about twelve miles north west of Lerwick.

Shetland

Shetland, also called the Shetland Islands, is a subarctic archipelago of Scotland that lies north-east of mainland Britain. The islands lie some 80 km to the northeast of Orkney and 280 km southeast of the Faroe Islands and form part of the division between the Atlantic Ocean to the west and the North Sea to the east. The total area is 1,468 km and the population totalled 22,210 in 2009.

Shetland Islands Council

The Shetland Islands Council is the local authority for Shetland, Scotland. It was established by the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 and is the successor to the former Lerwick Town Council and Zetland County Council. This council was established in 1975 and was largely unaffected by the Scottish local government changes of the mid 90s.
