Beinn Mhòr is the highest mountain in the Cowal peninsula in Argyll, Scotland. It is relatively little known and infrequently climbed, but has a high topographic prominence to height ratio and consequently commands good all round views.

Loch Eck

National grid reference NS14158694 Loch Eck is a loch located on the Cowal peninsula, north of Dunoon, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is seven miles long. Apart from Loch Lomond, it is the only naturally occurring habitat of the powan. The loch is also an impounding reservoir with a concrete dam measuring 0.870 metres high. The dam was completed in 1973.

Benmore Botanic Garden

Benmore Botanic Garden, formerly known as the Younger Botanic Garden, is a large botanic garden situated between Dunoon and Loch Eck, in Argyll, Scotland. It features a large square walled gardens, a waterfall, the remains of a fernery, ponds and walks up the hillside to where you can look out across the Holy Loch. A cafe can be found at the entrance as well as a shop. Benmore features many magnificent trees, some of which are over 150 years old.

Ardentinny

Ardentinny (Scottish Gaelic: Àird an t-Sionnaich or Àird an Teine) is a small village on the west shore of Loch Long, fourteen miles north of Dunoon in Argyll on the Cowal peninsula. Nearby is 'Cruach a Chaise' (Cheese Hill) while on the opposite side of Loch Long is the village of Coulport, home of RNAD Coulport, the storage and loading base for the UK's Trident Nuclear Defence Force.

Carrick Castle

Carrick Castle is a 15th-century tower house on the west shore of Loch Goil, Argyll, Scotland. It is located between Cuilmuich and Carrick, 4 miles south of Lochgoilhead. The Castle consists of two floors above the central great hall. The building is oblong, 66 feet long by 38 feet wide, with walls seven feet thick. It stands 64 feet high. There is a curiosity – a small chimney is built into a window recess.
