Renfrewshire (historic)

Renfrewshire or the County of Renfrew is a registration county, the Lieutenancy area of the Lord Lieutenant of Renfrewshire, and one of the counties of Scotland used for local government until 1975. Renfrewshire is located in the West Central Lowlands of Scotland, south of the River Clyde, opposite Dunbartonshire and divided from Argyllshire by the Firth of Clyde. The term Greater Renfrewshire is now occasionally used for this area.

Renfrew (district)

Renfrew District 1975-96 Renfrew District (Scottish Gaelic: Sgìre Rinn Friù) was one of nineteen local government districts in the Strathclyde region of Scotland, which existed between 1975 and 1996. The district was formed by the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 from part of the former county of Renfrewshire, namely: The burghs of Barrhead, Johnstone, Paisley, and Renfrew The County of Renfrew Second, Third and Fourth Districts.

Paisley and Renfrewshire South (UK Parliament constituency)

Paisley and Renfrewshire South is a constituency of the British House of Commons, located in Renfrewshire, Scotland to the southwest of Glasgow. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) at least once every five years using the first-past-the-post system of voting. The seat was formed in 2005, and is a safe seat for the Labour Party, who currently have a majority of over 16,000.

Ferguslie Park

Ferguslie Park is a housing area at the north-west extremity of Paisley in Renfrewshire, Scotland. It is bordered by the town of Linwood to the west and Glasgow International Airport to the north. In 2006, the Scottish Executive named it as one of Scotland's most deprived communities. This information was based on paperwork dating back to 1996. Ferguslie Park has improved over many years by building centres for sports and leisure for all ages.
