Ysgol Y Gwendraeth is an age 11 years - 18 years secondary school or comprehensive school in the heart of the Gwendraeth Valley, Carmarthenshire, Wales. The school is situated in the village of Drefach and has 312 pupils (2012). The current headteacher is Mrs Anna Williams. The school promotes the Welsh language, Welsh history and Welsh culture. District of Carmarthen

Carmarthen was one of six local government districts of the county of Dyfed, west Wales, from 1974 to 1996. It was formed under the Local Government Act 1972 from the following parts of the administrative county of Carmarthenshire: The municipal borough of Carmarthen The urban district of Newcastle Emlyn The rural districts of Carmarthen and Newcastle Emlyn In 1996 the district was abolished under the Local Government (Wales) Act 1994.

Five Roads

Five Roads is a hamlet in Carmarthenshire, Wales near the town of Llanelli. It is situated on the B4309 Llanelli to Carmarthen road, about five miles from the former and ten miles from the latter. The name of the village comes from the fact that there are five roads leading off what is known as The Square, the central portion of the village centred around the main road.
