Huntsville International Airport

Huntsville International Airport, also known as Carl T. Jones Field, is 9 miles (14 km) southwest of the central business district of Huntsville in Madison County, Alabama, United States. The airport is a part of the Port of Huntsville (along with the International Intermodal Center and Jetplex Industrial Park), and serves the Huntsville-Decatur Combined Statistical Area. Opened October 1967 as the Huntsville Jetport, this was the third airport site for Huntsville.

PGM-19 Jupiter

The PGM-19 Jupiter was the first medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) of the United States Air Force (USAF). It was a liquid-fueled rocket using RP-1 fuel and LOX oxidizer, with a single Rocketdyne LR70-NA (model S-3D) rocket engine producing 667 kN of thrust. The prime contractor was the Chrysler Corporation. The missiles, armed with nuclear warheads, were deployed in Italy and Turkey in 1961 as part of NATO's Cold War deterrent against the Soviet Union.

Redstone Technical Test Center

The Redstone Technical Test Center (RTTC) is one of the eight test centers that comprise the Developmental Test Command of the United States Army Test and Evaluation Command. RTTC conducts flight-testing of small rockets and guided missiles, and performs life cycle testing for weapon components. It occupies over 265 buildings and 14,000 acres of Redstone Arsenal, near Huntsville, Alabama.
