Nushagak, Alaska

Nushagak was a trade center and settlement near the present-day site of Dillingham, Alaska, USA, at the northern end of Nushagak Bay in northern Bristol Bay. It was located near the confluence of the Wood and Nushagak Rivers. The area was inhabited by Yup'ik Eskimos and Athabaskans. In 1818 Russians built the post of Alexandrovski Redoubt (Post) there. A Russian Orthodox mission was established there in 1837, by which time the community was known as Nushagak.

Kanakanak, Dillingham

Kanakanak is a neighborhood within the city of Dillingham in the Dillingham Census Area in the U.S. state of Alaska. It is located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:59|00|14|N|158|32|06|W|type:city_region:US | |name= }}, about 10 km (6 mi) southwest of downtown Dillingham's famous togiak alley. Kanakanak is the location of an Indian Health Service hospital operated by the Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation. The name has been cited as the longest geographic palindrome.

KDLG (AM)

KDLG is a non-commercial, public and community radio station in Dillingham, Alaska, broadcasting on 670 AM. Station programming includes a mix of nationally available NPR shows, Alaska Public Radio Network and local news, and music. It came on the air in March, 1976. Like most public broadcasters, the station seeks contributions from listeners via annual fund-drives but, unlike most, does not give those contributors a direct vote on the management or programming of the station.
