The Village of Charlie Creek is an uncorporated community in eastern Hardee County, Florida. In at least three websites the community is called Charlie Creek Mobile Home Estates and in one it is called Charlie Creek Mobile Estates. WWOJ is a commercial radio station in Avon Park, Florida, broadcasting to the Sebring area. The stations is known as "OJ 99.1". The station's format is Country music, and the station consistently achieves the highest Arbitron ratings for the Sebring radio market. WWOJ signed on at 106.3 FM in 1982; the station's original format was adult standards/MOR. The current country format was adopted in 1985. WWOJ moved to its current 99.1 FM frequency with 10,000 watts of power in about 1995.

Florida Cracker Trail

The Florida Cracker Trail runs from just east of Bradenton, and ends in Fort Pierce, a total distance of approximately 120 miles . In years past, this route was used for both cattle and horses. Today it includes parts of State Road 66, State Road 64, and U.S. Highway 98. On November 20, 2000, the Florida Cracker Trail was selected as a Community Millennium Trail.
