Mallows Bay

Mallows Bay is a small bay on the Maryland side of the Potomac River in Charles County, Maryland, and located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:38|28|21.4|N|77|16|6.9|W|type:waterbody |primary |name=Mallows Bay, Potomac River, Maryland }}. The bay is the location of what is regarded as the "largest shipwreck fleet in the Western Hemisphere" and is described as a "ship graveyard. " Charles County operates Mallows Bay Park (1440 Wilson Landing Road in Nanjemoy, Maryland).

Smallwood State Park

Smallwood State Park is a 628-acre state park near Marbury, Maryland. It is located at Sweden Point on the Mattawoman Creek. It includes a restored plantation home, Smallwood's Retreat, home of General William Smallwood. The park features a marina, boat launching ramps, a picnic area, camping area, pavilions, a recycled tire playground and nature trails.

Possum Point

Possum Point is a small peninsula in Northern Virginia that juts out into Quantico Creek and separates it from the Potomac River. It lies in a suburban area of Washington D.C. Dominion Virginia Power operates a power plant on the point. The area is rich in Civil War History, and a nearby peak, Possum Nose, was the site of a Confederate fort.
