Rogers City, Michigan

Rogers City is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 2,827 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Presque Isle County. The city is adjacent to Rogers Township, but is politically independent. Rogers City is located on Lake Huron and is home to two salmon fishing tournaments. The world's largest open pit limestone quarry, the Port of Calcite, is located within the city limits and is one of the largest shipping ports on the Great Lakes. The freighter, SS Carl D.

WHAK-FM (99.9 FM, "The Wave") is a radio station licensed to Rogers City, Michigan. It serves the Alpena, Cheboygan and Mackinaw City areas. It broadcasts a classic hits music format featuring hits of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. The station has a local weekday-morning show and airs Dial Global's Classic Hits/Pop format the remainder of the time. Programming is simulcast on WHAK-AM 960.

Swan River (Michigan)

The Swan River is a 17.3-mile-long river in Presque Isle County, Michigan. It originates in a swamp south of Belknap and east of Hawks. It flows generally northeast, between the Trout River and Little Trout River watersheds. The river enters the small Swan Lake, just southeast of Calcite limestone quarry, before reaching its mouth in Lake Huron, in a small bay between Adams Points and Quarry Point. The river is not navigable but provides a salmon habitat.

Douglas Lake (Michigan)

Douglas Lake (Cheboygan County, Michigan), is an inland lake located in the northern tip of Michigan's lower peninsula. It is the 28th largest lake in Michigan with an areal coverage of 3,395 acres (1,373 hectares) and a maximum depth of 79 feet (24 meters). The Lake has two tributaries, Bessey Creek and Beavertail Creek and one outlet, the East Branch Maple River. Douglas Lake is part of the headwaters for the Maple River, a Blue Ribbon trout stream.
