Skinner Memorial Chapel

Skinner Memorial Chapel is a chapel and historic building on the campus of Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The chapel was built in 1916, fifty years after Carleton College was founded, and was financed by a gift from Emily Willey Skinner. Her husband, Miron Skinner, had been a trustee of the college until his death in 1909.

Carleton College

Carleton College is an independent non-sectarian, coeducational, liberal arts college in Northfield, Minnesota, USA. The college enrolls 1,958 undergraduate students, and employs 198 full-time faculty members. In 2012 U.S. News and World Report ranked Carleton College the 8th best liberal arts college in the United States and ranked Carleton number two for undergraduate teaching at a national liberal arts college.

Goodsell Observatory

Goodsell Observatory is a building on the campus of Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. It was constructed in 1887 and was, at the time, the largest observatory in the state of Minnesota. It was named for Charles Goodsell, who donated much of the land on which Carleton was founded. Goodsell was built to replace Carleton's original observatory (built in 1877), which was razed in 1905 to make room for Laird Hall. Goodsell Observatory is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Cave (pub)

The Cave is the oldest student-run pub in the United States. It is a favorite gathering place for students at Carleton College and is one of a limited number of music venues in Northfield, Minnesota. Founded in 1927, it is housed on the lowest level of the Margaret Evans Dormitory. The Cave is open every night as a coffeehouse for students. There are typically several shows each week, most often on Friday and Saturday nights. The Cave is currently licensed to serve 3.2% beer.
