Warman, Minnesota

Warman is an unincorporated community in Kanabec County, Minnesota, United States. The community is located north of Mora on Minnesota State Highway 65. In 1977, the Minnesota Department of Transportation estimated the population of Warman as 40 people. Warman, in sections 5 and 6 of Peace Township, was named in honor of S. M. Warman, a granite quarry owner who was killed by the fall of a derrick.

Red Top, Minnesota

Red Top is a small former railroad town, founded in 1908. It is located in Section 29 of Idun Township in southern Aitkin County, about 4 miles due east of Mille Lacs Lake. (Geographical location 46.176785,-93.395766) It celebrated its centennial on August 9, 2008 with over 50 people in attendance to the event. The Soo Line Railroad, through their Tri- State Land Company division, acquired the land it’s on from Richard J. Lewis in May 1908.

Ayd Mill Road

Ayd Mill Road is a road in Saint Paul, Minnesota. It runs diagonally through Saint Paul, connecting with Interstate 35E at its southeast terminus, and feeds into Selby Avenue at its northwest end. Indirect access to I-94 is possible via Selby and Snelling Avenues. Originally known as the Short Line Road, it was renamed in 1993 for John Ayd, a German settler who maintained a mill and residence in the area in the mid-to-late 19th century.

Knife River (Snake River)

The Knife River is a 27.4-mile-long tributary of the Snake River in east-central Minnesota in the United States. It is one of three streams in Minnesota with this name. Its name is a translation from the Dakota Isaanti. Knife Lake and Santee Sioux are named after this river. In turn Isanti County is named after the Santee Sioux.
