Gerlach Hot Springs Park

Gerlach Hot Springs Park is a geothermal area located on private property outside of the tiny village of Gerlach, Nevada, in a region known as the Black Rock Desert. It is not currently accessible by the public, and has not been since the 1990s. The park is on top of one of Nevada's most geothermically active regions, and contains dozens of hot springs and thermal pools. During the cooler months, people enjoy warming up in some of the hot springs. Many are too hot to swim in.

Burning Man

Burning Man is a week-long annual event held in the Black Rock Desert in northern Nevada, in the United States. The event begins on the last Monday in August, and ends on the first Monday in September, which coincides with the American Labor Day holiday. The 2012 Burning Man Festival took place between August 27 and September 3. It takes its name from the ritual burning of a large wooden effigy on Saturday evening.

Fly Geyser

Fly Geyser, also known as Fly Ranch Geyser is a small geothermal geyser that is located approximately 20 miles north of Gerlach in Washoe County, Nevada. The Geyser is located in Hualapai Flat, about 1/3 of a mile from State Route 34. It is large enough to be seen from the road. Fly Geyser is located on the private Fly Ranch and is accessible only by a small private dirt road. The ranch is currently owned by Todd Jaksick.

Squaw Valley Reservoir

The Squaw Valley Reservoir, or alternatively Squaw Creek Reservoir or Squaw Valley Creek Reservoir, is a lake managed by the Bureau of Land Management in Washoe County, Nevada. The reservoir is a fishing destination stocked with several species of fish, including trout, bass and catfish.
