Contoocook River

The Contoocook River is a 71-mile-long river in New Hampshire. It flows from Pool Pond and Contoocook Lake on the Jaffrey/Rindge border to Penacook (just north of Concord), where it empties into the Merrimack River. It is one of only a few rivers in New Hampshire that flow in a predominantly northward direction. Two picturesque covered bridges in Hopkinton and one in Henniker span the Contoocook, as does another on the Hancock-Greenfield line.

Canterbury Shaker Village

Canterbury Shaker Village is a historic site and museum in Canterbury, New Hampshire, United States. It was one of a number of Shaker communities founded in the 19th century. It is one of the most intact and authentic surviving Shaker community sites, and was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1993. The site is operated by a non-profit organization established in 1969 to preserve the heritage of the Canterbury Shakers.

Miles Smith Farm

Miles Smith Farm is is a family-owned organic grass-fed beef farm located on Whitehouse Road in Loudon, New Hampshire, United States. Formerly a working family farm and stoneworks, its 36 acres have a panoramic view of the Merrimack Valley to the southwest. Miles Smith Farm and neighboring grazing fields supports a herd of Scottish Highland and Angus that are chosen because they are a hardy breed and do well in rugged nature of central New Hampshire.

Penacook, New Hampshire

Penacook, originally called "Fisherville", is a village within the city of Concord in Merrimack County, New Hampshire, USA. It lies along Concord's northern border with Boscawen. The name comes from the Pennacook tribe that lived in the area. Penacook (Pennycook) was the original name of the plantation incorporated by present-day Concord. Penacook is located along a stretch of the Contoocook River that falls 100 feet in slightly over one mile, just before joining the Merrimack River.
