Arroyo Hondo, New Mexico

Arroyo Hondo is a small unincorporated town in Taos County near Taos, New Mexico, United States. It is historically notable as the site of the killing of six to eight employees by a force of allied Native Americans at Simon Turley's mill on January 20, 1847. This took place during the Taos Revolt, a popular insurrection of New Mexicans and Native Americans against the new United States territorial regime during the Mexican-American War.

Taos Regional Airport

Taos Regional Airport is a public use airport located eight nautical miles (15 km) northwest of the central business district of Taos, in Taos County, New Mexico, United States. It is owned by the Town of Taos. According to the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2009–2013, it is classified as a general aviation airport. Although many U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this airport is assigned SKX by the FAA and TSM by the IATA.

Rio Grande Gorge

The Rio Grande Gorge is a geological feature in northern New Mexico where the watercourse of the Rio Grande River follows a tectonic Chasm. Beginning near the Colorado border, the approximately 50 miles gorge runs from northwest to southeast of Taos, New Mexico, through the basalt flows of the Taos Plateau volcanic field. The gorge depth is 800 feet just south of the Gorge Bridge, which spans the gorge 10 miles northwest of Taos.
