South Hill is a census-designated place (CDP) in Tompkins County, New York, United States. The population was 6,673 at the 2010 census. The South Hill CDP is located within the town of Ithaca. It is located near the south end of Cayuga Lake. The name South Hill is shared with a contiguous area within the City of Ithaca. Ithaca College is located in the South Hill CDP.

Buttermilk Falls State Park

Buttermilk Falls State Park is located southwest of Ithaca, New York, USA. Like Robert H. Treman State Park, the initial grant of land for the park came from Robert and Laura Treman, in 1924. The park offers a beach, cabins, fishing, hiking, hunting (bow-hunting deer), a nature trail, pavilions, a playground, playing fields, recreation programs, and a campground with tent and trailer sites. The park also has nine other waterfalls, but Buttermilk Falls is the main attraction.

Ford Observatory (Ithaca)

This article is about the New York observatory. For the California location see Ford Observatory (Wrightwood). The Clinton B. Ford Observatory is an astronomical observatory that is operated by the Ithaca College physics department. The observatory is located in the forest on the south end of the Ithaca College campus in Ithaca, New York. It was constructed in 1998 using funds from the National Science Foundation and a bequest from the late Clinton B. Ford.
