Polo Grounds

The Polo Grounds was the name given to three different stadiums in Upper Manhattan, New York City, used by many professional teams in both baseball and American football from 1880 until 1963. In baseball, the site was home to the New York Metropolitans from 1880 until 1885, the New York Giants from 1883 until 1957, the New York Yankees from 1912 until 1922, and the New York Mets in their first two seasons of 1962 and 1963.

155th Street (IRT Ninth Avenue Line)

155th Street was an elevated railway station in New York City which was in use from 1870 until 1958, serving as the north terminal of the IRT Ninth Avenue Line from its opening until 1918 and then as the southern terminal of a surviving stub portion from 1940 until its closure in 1958. It has two tracks and one island platform.

155th Street (IND Concourse Line)

155th Street (155th Street – Eighth Avenue on some signage) is a local station on the IND Concourse Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of 155th Street and Eighth Avenue, it is served by the D train at all times except rush hours in peak direction and the B during rush hours only. This underground station, opened on July 1, 1933, has two side platforms and three tracks. The center track is used by the D train during rush hours in peak direction.

Rucker Park

Rucker Park is a basketball court in the Harlem neighborhood of the New York City borough of Manhattan. It is located at 155th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard across the street from the former Polo Grounds site. Many who played at the park in the Rucker Tournament achieved a level of fame for their abilities, and several have gone on to play in the NBA.

Coogan's Bluff

For the Clint Eastwood movie see Coogan's Bluff (film) Coogan's Bluff is the name of a promontory rising abruptly from the Harlem River in upper Manhattan in New York City. Starting at 155th Street, it is regarded as the boundary between the neighborhoods of Harlem and Washington Heights. The rise is named for James J. Coogan (1845-1915), a real estate owner and one-term Manhattan Borough President. Known as "Coogan's Bluff" as early as 1893, the property passed on to his wife upon his passing.
