E.V. Spence Reservoir (also known as Lake E.V. Spence) is a dry lake located west of (and upstream from) the town of Robert Lee, Texas. The reservoir was impounded by the creation of Robert Lee Dam in 1969, with the support of the Upper Colorado River Authority, to provide a reliable water supply for Robert Lee and the surrounding communities in Coke County. The lake also serves as a recreational venue for fishing, boating, and swimming.

Robert Lee is a city in and the county seat of Coke County, Texas, United States. The founders named the city after Robert E. Lee, who is thought to have set up camp for a time near the current townsite on the Colorado River. Lee served in Texas from 1856 to 1861 as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Second Cavalry, during which time he distinguished himself as a scout and engineer. The population was 1,049 at the 2010 census. The town of Robert Lee is located on the Colorado River.

Coke County, Texas
Coke County is a county located on the Edwards Plateau in the U.S. state of Texas. The county was founded in 1889. As of the 2010 census, its population was 3,320. It is named for Richard Coke, the fifteenth governor of Texas. Coke County was one of 46 prohibition, or entirely dry, counties in the state of Texas, but passed a law allowing the sale of beer and wine in 2005. Its seat is Robert Lee.
