Young Street Bridge (Aberdeen, Washington)

Young Street Bridge is a bridge in North Aberdeen, Washington. The bridge covers a brief span along the Wishkah River and carries a north or south bound thoroughfare connecting the City of Aberdeen with the North Aberdeen neighborhood and other outlying communities. Most notably, the bridge has been the subject of numerous accounts regarding the bridge as a once temporary home for Rock and Roll Icon Kurt Cobain.

Wishkah River

The Wishkah River is a tributary of the Chehalis River, approximately 40 miles long, in the U.S. state of Washington. The river drains a remote rural area of approximately 102 square miles in Grays Harbor County along the Washington coast north of Aberdeen. It flows south through Grays Harbor County and empties into the Chehalis at Aberdeen. The name "Wishkah" is an adaptation of the Chehalis Indian word hwish-kahl, meaning "stinking water".
