Big Lake is a census-designated place (CDP) in Skagit County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,835 at the 2010 census. It is included in the Mount Vernon–Anacortes, Washington Metropolitan Statistical Area. Big Lake is an exurban community in a fairly rural setting, although recent years have seen significant suburban development. The area, however, has remained primarily residential.

Washington's 2nd congressional district

Washington's 2nd congressional district includes all of Island and San Juan counties and neighboring areas on the mainland from Bellingham in the north to Lynnwood in the south. Before redistricting in 2012, the district encompassed the northern portion of Western Washington from the vicinity of the King/Snohomish county line to the Canadian border, including the San Juan Islands and the exclave of Point Roberts. Since 2001, it has been represented by Democrat Rick Larsen.

Skagit Valley Hospital

Skagit Valley Hospital, located in Mt. Vernon, WA, organized as a Public District operating in Skagit Valley Public Hospital District #1. The hospital was founded in 1958. The Hospital is overseen by a seven member Board of Commissioners, elected by the district's constituents.
