The centre of Port Blakely is generally defined as the intersection of Blakely Hill Road and Blakely Avenue NE, although the wider area is generally also known as Port Blakely. The community's name was at one time spelled as Port Blakeley.

Fort Ward Park is part of the Bainbridge Island Metro Park and Recreation District, on land which the former military base, Fort Ward, was located. Covering 137 acres of dense forest and underbrush, it is an area full of beauty. Impressive views of Rich Passage, the Olympic Mountains and varied marine wildlife can be seen at the park.

Creosote is a community of Bainbridge Island, Washington, along Eagle Harbor. It is directly visible from the downtown Bainbridge Island community of Winslow, and is so named because of the manufacturing of creosote at the now-defunct Pacific Creosoting Company in the area. Creosote is an industrial zone on Bill Point. As such, it is considered somewhat of an eyesore by locals.
