Phong Dien District, Can Tho

Phong Điền is a rural district of Can Tho in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. As of 2003, the district had a population of 102,621. As of 2004, the population had risen to 102,699. The district covers an area of 119 km . Phong Dien was established by Decree No. 05/2004/ND-CP dated January 2, 2004. To the east it borders Ninh Kieu District, Cai Rang District, and to the west it borders Hau Giang province, and Bac Binh Thuy District.

Cai Rang District

Cái Răng is an urban district of Can Tho in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. As of 2003 the district had a population of 77,292. This increased to 82,152 in 2007. The district covers an area of 63 km². Cai Rang District was established by Decree No. 05/2004/ND-CP on January 2, 2004. The district borders Vinh Long to the east, and also Tay Phong Dien district, Hau Giang province, and Bac Ninh Kieu district.

Binh Thuy Air Base

Binh Thuy Air Base is a former air force base in Vietnam, It was constructed by the United States in 1965 and used by the South Vietnamese Air Force (SVNAF) and the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War in the IV Corps Tactical Zone of South Vietnam. It was seized by the Vietnam People's Army in April 1975 and was abandoned for several decades. Today, the site is being redeveloped as Trà Nóc Airport.
